Sweeting Ranch

Sweeting Ranch sits in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains, south of Lewistown, Montana. We have an Angus cow, calf operation and also raise and train Australian Shepherd Stock dogs. We got our first Australian Shepherd in 1984 and have been in love with them since. Our goal is to raise and produce Aussies with strong herding instincts, a strong desire to work, that are structurally correct, and have good dispositions.

We use our dogs on our ranch doing everyday ranch chores. They are also used to gather, move, and sort cattle and sheep from one pasture to another. They have sufficiently cut down on the number of people needed to get the job done. A well-trained stock dog on a ranch is a valuable time saving asset.

We take breeding very seriously; therefore all of our dogs are health tested for genetic diseases and have had their hips and elbows certified. They must also have strong working instincts. and be structurally sound.
